Which links are affiliate links

Broadly: the buy buttons, the price blocks, the "check current price" links and most links that take you to a shop. Links to a manufacturer's documentation, to a news story, to another article on this site or to a source being cited are ordinary links and pay nothing.

You can always tell for yourself, in three ways:

• Look at the link. Affiliate links on this site carryrel="sponsored nofollow noopener" and open in a new tab. Right-click → inspect, or view the page source, and you will see it.
• Look at the URL. Affiliate URLs carry a tracking parameter — a tag=, ref= or similar identifier — that tells the retailer where you came from.
• Look at the page. Pages with buy links carry a disclosure near the links themselves, not only here.

Which programmes this site takes part in

Affiliate commission is paid through retailer and network programmes, each with its own terms. The specific programmes this site is enrolled in are listed below.

• RunPod referral / affiliate programme. AI GPU cloud comparisons may use tagged signup links to runpod.io.

This list is updated when a new merchant with a live monetized link is added to the site. Some product links in comparison tables are ordinary official links and do not pay commission.

What this costs you

Nothing. Affiliate commission is paid by the retailer out of its own margin, not added to your bill. Using a link here does not raise the price, remove a discount, or exclude you from a promotion. If a page shows a coupon code, it is a code you can use whether or not you arrived through a tagged link.

Prices and discounts quoted on this site are captured at the time of writing and change without warning. The retailer's own page is always the authoritative price — check it before you buy.

Why it does not change the verdict

The obvious worry with affiliate revenue is that the highest-paying product wins. Three structural things are in place against that:

Coverage decisions work the same way — themethodology page describes how products are chosen, and commission is not one of the criteria. Plenty of what appears here pays little or nothing at all.

What happens when you click a buy link

Clicking an affiliate link sends you to the retailer, who typically sets a cookie in your browser to attribute the visit. If you buy within that cookie's window, this site is credited. The retailer — not this site — controls that cookie and sees your purchase; nothing about what you bought is reported back here beyond an anonymous commission line.

This site also records an affiliate_click event in Google Analytics when you click one, so it can see which links get used. Theprivacy page explains exactly what that event contains.

Legal basis for this page

US Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements requires that a material connection between a publisher and a seller be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, close to the recommendation. Affiliate commission is such a connection. That is why the disclosure appears near the buy links on individual pages as well as here.
